Pierre-Louis Costes Finishes 3rd at the Fronton King After a Thrilling World Title Battle

As always, the Fronton King delivered high drama — and Pierre-Louis Costes was once again right in the middle of it. Coming into the final event of the year ranked third overall, the French legend and Morey x Legacy team rider knew the path to a possible third World Title would be a narrow one: he needed to win the event, and Uri Valadão had to lose in the quarterfinals.

Incredibly, that exact scenario unfolded. Uri Valadão was eliminated in the quarters, opening the door for PLC to chase history. But standing in his way in the semifinals was none other than Amaury Lavernhe, the undisputed master of El Frontón.

Amaury started strong with a near-perfect 9.5-point ride, setting a fierce pace for the heat. Despite Pierre-Louis’s commitment and precision, Amaury seemed untouchable in the heavy Canarian slabs. He finished his performance with a spectacular belly air scored 9.5, which many observers considered worthy of a perfect 10.

That was the end of the title race for Pierre-Louis Costes, who once again finished runner-up at the Fronton King — his eighth career second-place finish on the World Tour, an incredible record that speaks to both his consistency and longevity at the highest level.

Also worth noting was the impressive performance of Jérémy Arnoux, the Guadeloupean charger who advanced through six heats to finish 9th overall and third among the French riders.

The 2025 season closes with emotion, respect, and anticipation — and as always, Pierre-Louis Costes leaves fans inspired and hungry for more. The countdown to next year’s tour has already begun.
