Pierre Louis Costes Makes History at IBC Sintra Pro

The iconic IBC Sintra Pro once again delivered a week of world-class bodyboarding, and this year’s edition will go down in the history books. Our team rider, Pierre Louis Costes, a two-time world champion, claimed his fifth Sintra crown – his third consecutive victory at the event – making him the sole record-holder for most wins in Sintra. With this achievement, PLC surpasses Brazilian legend Uri Valadão, further cementing his place among the sport’s all-time greats.

The defining moment of Pierre’s run came in the semifinals, where he faced Spain’s Armide Soliveres, his direct rival in the hunt for the world title. In a tense battle, Pierre’s experience and composure saw him through, effectively sealing the outcome of the world title race. Riding that momentum, he went on to dominate the final against Portugal’s Miguel Ferreira, showcasing the sharp precision and explosive style that have defined his career.

But Sintra wasn’t only about Pierre’s historic triumph. Our young guns Louka Zanninotto and Ilan Chouard made their mark with strong performances, proving once again that the next generation of riders is ready to push the sport forward.

From PLC’s record-breaking victory to the promise shown by Louka and Ilan, the Sintra Pro was a powerful reminder of bodyboarding’s vibrant competitive spirit and the bright future that lies ahead.

Congratulations to the team – and especially to Pierre Louis Costes for rewriting history in Sintra!
